Congrats to Tania Nault

Tania Nault is one of our most active volunteers each year at Reflections. She basically doesn't stop working from the time she arrives until the show is over. Tania will be at Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park down in the south-west corner of the province - so if you are in that area be sure to see her.

June Art Show & Sale and Annual Picnic

We have arranged to have a June Art Sale:
Friday, June 9 (evening tentative hours 6 - 9 pm)
Saturday, June 10 (tentative hours 10 am - 4 pm)

It will be at the Crossmount Art Barn which is 5.8 km south of the German Concordia Club on Hwy 219 (straight out Lorne Ave).

Details are still being worked out, but we thought that we should let the members know of this opportunity so that they can start planning.

The cost to members who participate is still being determined - all sales are directly to them with no commissions. If we can get enough interest we are hoping to keep the cost per artist down to $35.
Let me know if you are interested in participating.

ANNUAL PICNIC / BBQ to be held at the home of Leroy & Rina Royer again this year on:  Sunday, June 11.

Out-of-town members could stay in Saskatoon for the weekend to be at the sale and at the picnic. Will be a great weekend!

Chickadee Carving Workshop

Updated information on classes at the Razertip Classroomcan be found at:

Workshop #1:

Carving a Realistic Black-capped Chickadee with Cam Merkle

Thursday evenings 7-9:30pm for 10 weeks Feb 9 through April 13, 2017

Join Cam for this inaugural carving workshop in Razertip's new state-of-the-art classroom. Over 10 weeks (2.5 hours per week) you will carve, texture and paint a life-size Black-capped Chickadee. This class is ideal for first-time or less experienced carvers; if you've never carved a bird before or if you're still at the early stages of learning how, this class is for you. When the class is done you'll have a beautiful, realistic Chickadee carving that you'll be proud to display! You'll also have learned a whole range of new skills!

The Razertip classroom is a fully-equipped facility where each workstation has all the top-quality tools and equipment you'll need to complete your project. Even if you have tools of your own, you won't need to bring them (unless you really want to).

A fee of $225.00 includes everything - a bandsawn blank, study notes, pattern and reference, glass eyes, pewter toes or feet, a base to mount the bird on, paint, and any other tools and supplies as needed (also includes all applicable taxes). All you need to bring is a desire to carve your bird!

Cam Merkle is the owner and president of Razertip Industries Inc. and Saskatchewan's only Wildfowl Master Artist. He has been teaching bird carving since 1984 and has been a teacher, judge and competitor with his carvings at shows and carving events all over North America. An avid bird observer and photographer, Cam has over 40 photo reference books and 2 pattern and photo books currently in print with more in the works.
